Meet the Staff
Senior Pastor Pastor WilliamsRoger Williams, Jr. serves as our Senior Pastor. Previously, he served as assistant pastor here at Calvary as well as in two other churches. He helped plant a church in Apache Junction and was youth pastor at Grace Baptist Church in Tempe. He graduated from Mesa High School in 1975, from Faith Baptist Bible College in 1979 with a Bachelor of Arts and from Northwest Baptist Seminary with a Master of Divinity. He trusted Jesus Christ as his Savior at five years of age and dedicated his life to serve Him at age 13. God led him into ministry at age 24. Reared in a pastor’s home, Roger learned to love and appreciate people, having a heart for missions. He has ministered and taught Bible classes in Brazil, Trinidad and Tobago, and Moldova. He enjoys Arizona, ministering to people of all ages, enjoys the great outdoors, serving at Christian camps and participating in sports. Pastor of Outreach and Evangelism Pastor WoodPastor Wood attended Northern Arizona University for two years where he sensed the Lord's leading to full-time ministry. He graduated from Bob Jones University in Greenville, South Carolina, in 1972 after completing a three year Bible Institute program. He was ordained to the Gospel Ministry in 1981, serving in pastorates across Arizona and Wisconsin. As a member of New Tribes Mission for six years, he also taught on the faculty of New Tribes Bible Institute in Waukesha, Wisconsin. In 2005 Pastor Wood returned to Arizona to accept the position of Minister of Outreach and Evangelism at Calvary Baptist Church in Mesa. He also directs the church choir and loves to preach God's Word. He and his wife, Virginia, reside in Mesa. They have two married daughters and three grandsons. In his "spare" time, Pastor Wood enjoys reading, antiquing, and jewelry making. contact Pastor Wood |
